HomeCompleting PQQs, PPQs and Tenders

Before you start

PQQ – Pre Qualification Questionnaire

PPQ – Pre Purchasing Questionnaire

PQQs and PPQs are used as filters – organisations who want to become a supplier to the public sector, particularly for the high value contracts, have to demonstrate that they meet the minimum criteria.  To prevent so-called “unfit” organisations progressing to the full-blown tender stage, all applicants have to pass the pre-qualifying round.  The questionnaires are designed to weed out companies who are not financially robust enough, or who don’t have the right policies in place or who can’t prove that they can provide the right level of quality.

When you receive a PQQ or a tender, the first thing to do is to read it through from cover to cover, noting any questions as you go.  Often, there will be guidance notes to read as well.

You will be given a deadline for submission of questions and it is important to remember that all questions and answers will be published to the other bidders so that everyone has the same information available to them.
